Life Moves

Life moves so slow if we let it.  It pushes things back, into the far places of our mind where we seldom visit, it makes us forget, it elongates time and the presence of hate and the sickening feeling in our stomach when we lose, when we give up.  It will allude your mind to thoughts of running, of getting somewhere, of going someplace, or accomplishing something, when in actuality you're sitting in an easy chair simply dreaming.  Life moves so slow, and we let it.  We let our lives pass us by, we take too much time to dwell on things that we can't change, we obsess over power that we don't possess, we live to win and if we don't then what is left?  Sometimes it makes us want to give up, to say nevermind, I tried, but it wasn't good enough.  Life moves so slow, there's nothing we can do to change it.  Unfamiliar instances drag out over days and our mind wraps itself around them until it can't stretch any further.  Haunted by mistakes, by blunders, by tripping and falling and forgetting to stand up.  Life moves so slow, forget about it.  You can't fix the past, so why live there?  Grasping at straws and using silly metaphors for irreversible moments.  Playing the part of a slower speaker, somebody who is a good judge of character rather than the impulsive dictator that you've turned out to be.  It's the easiest thing in the world to sit back and reminisce, to rethink every decision you've made and twist the turns of your past til they form a perfect curve.  But what's the use?  Lift moves so slow, I can't stop thinking about it.
