10 January 2011

If there's one thing I have to say for our generation it's this: our cinema sucks.  Our films are terrible.  The plots, the characters, the development, the time and energy spent on creating something that will actually last past its' creator's lives... I could keep going but I don't want to soapbox, simply state.

With that being said, I'm going to make it a personal mission to begin watching poignant films of eras past.  I started with the Godfather I & II over winter break, as well as Apocalypse Now and a few others.  Today I'm finally getting around to watching Fear & Loathing.  I guess I just think it's important to carry on films that are worth, well, carrying on.  So instead of wasting time watching idiotic million dollar 2011 flops, I'm going to attempt to focus my cinematic time and energy on movies that have lasted, in hopes that they will continue to last.
