Boy With a Heart-Shaped Hole

Roots run deep, I stay awake when you're asleep.  Frightened by the thoughts that travel through my head, leaving now won't be back for some time.  Don't try to find me, I'll be closer than you know.  Boy with a heart-shaped hole, I've always wanted you.  Sun rises on my doubts and illuminates foggy windows from poor ventilation and the circulation of our breath.  Can't shake this feeling that you're where I want to be when I'm millions of miles away, at least that's how it feels sometimes.  Boy with a heart-shaped hole, I've always needed you.  Rewinding mental tapes and playing back my favorite moments of you, tracing the outline of your face against a lit backdrop and slowly coming to the realization that you were never there to begin with.  Staring at you from across the table at breakfast wondering where the boy went whom I admired so madly.  Boy with a heart-shaped hole, I've always love you.
