thought catalog is always a yes

If you haven't already, please turn yourself on to Thought Catalog.  TC is a compilation of thoughts, ideas, informative pieces, reflections, and anything in between, all contributed by respected and articulate writers from various walks of life.  They say "culture is our politics" - and I fuckin love that.  I check TC for updates pretty regularly, every few days or so, and read only the entries that catch my attention or leave me wanting more than just the title and catchphrase (which, as we all know, is the epitome of good writing).  Today I read an article titled "Questions For 20-Somethings," and about died halfway through it.  This. Article. Is. Me.  And not even in a "look at how many funny yet accurate descriptions of young adult life I can come up with" way, but in a very real and almost frighteningly true way.

My favorite excerpts from said article:
""Why are you afraid of being bored? Fill your days with work, appointments, dinners out, and clutch your receipts..."
"God, sometimes it feels like you’re the only one who missed the boat. Sometimes it feels like you’re the only person who has nowhere to be at this time.  Sometimes it feels like you’re the only who didn’t get it."
"Why am I so self-obsessed and such a narcissist? Why do I have so many questions? Why do I question every decision I make?"

Shit... makes me want to write about something more important than falling in and out of something like love, wanting to do something important with my life, and reflecting on other people's lives.  Maybe someday.
